I never thought about becoming a travel agent until fate stepped in. During a two week New Zealand/Australian cruise I became acquainted with the owner, Juli, of The Cruise Company. My husband and I had been cruising with her company for twelve years (Mexico, Alaska, Panama Canal, Eastern, Western & Southern Caribbean, Hawaii, Tahiti, New Zealand, Australia, and Pacific Northwest) but never actually dealt with her personally. Juli and I hit it off and were soon doing morning aerobics at the crack of dawn every morning. That way we could still enjoy all the wonderful and fattening foods available twenty-four hours a day!

One day Juli just mentioned that this was her “really busy” time of the year and one gal was off to have foot surgery. Being retired and a regular volunteer about town I offered to come in and answer the phones, for free, until the gal came back – about five weeks. Now, after two years I’m still here and loving it! No, I don’t work for free. I must say this has been one of the best things I’ve done since retiring. All the girls here are wonderful and we have a very close camaraderie amongst ourselves. Finally though, I want you to know what a pleasure it is to talk to the clients from all over the USA. You’re all GREAT!!
